: breakable ‘/’ ¶The \slash
command produces a ‘/’ character and then a
penalty of the same value as an explicit ‘-’ character
(\exhyphenpenalty
). This allows TeX to break a line at the
‘/’, similar to a hyphen. Hyphenation is allowed in the word part
preceding the ‘/’, but not after. For example:
The input\slash output of the program is complicated.
